Role of Managers - Managment Concepts and Principles

A manager is a person who tries to achieve the goals and objective of an organization effectively and efficiently. Manger roles falls under three categories:
  • Interpersonal Role - The objective/goal is an interpersonal goal which prescribe the suggestion and he majors to achieve it. A manager has to interact no. of people inside and outside to organization.
Inside the organization manager has to interact with peers, subordinates, and superiors.
Outside the organization manager has to interact with customer, supplier, competitors and public affairs.

It is very important for managers to know why people behave the way they do and why people act, react, respond in a particular way.
  • Informational Role- A manager has to seek, receive, scan and forward information to organization members through memos, reports, and phone calls. 
  • Decision making Role - Decision making is a difficult task. A manager has to take several decision in daily life. It involve identifying new ideas, delegating duties and responsibilities,  determining budget etc.
